NMARES members are actively involved in
 ARES - Amateur Radio Emergency Service,
RACES - Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service and
 SkyWarn - the National Weather Service  weather spotter programs..

  NMARES is affiliated with CCECPSCO - the Charlevoix, Cheboygan and
Emmet Counties Public Service Communications Organization.

NMARES is a non-profit organization supported entirely by public and private donations.
NMARES members focus on development of  Technical Skills and
 Emergency Communications  for Northern Michigan.

NMARES  promotes Emergency Preparedness, Exemplary Station Operation
 and FCC Regulation Compliance.
  
The Northern Michigan Amateur Radio Emergency Services Organization
  meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:00pm.
The meetings are at the Elmira Township Hall, 2035 Mt. Jack Rd. Elmira.
