Barb – N8JML and Duane – KX8D retired owners of ComDaC have made a extremely generous donation offer to the Northern Michigan Amateur Radio Emergency Services Organization. They have offered to provide a Free Icom D-Star repeater system to the NMARES organization.
The system will include the Icom ID-RP2C digital repeater controller, the ID-RP2000V VHF Digital RF module, and the ID-RP4000V UHF RF module. The D-Star system when completed with have both 2 meter and 70 cm digital repeater capabilities. These three components have a combined value of over $4,000.00.
Additional equipment will be required to complete this NMARES Tactical Emergency Repeater. These items will include duplexers, isolators, antennas coax, power supplies ect. The cost for these items will be born by NMARES.
NMARES members will need to purchase several
Icom D-Star
radios to take advantage of this generous donation from
ComDaC. The D-Star version
of the 2 meter digital radios start out around $300.00 each.
The Northern Michigan Amateur Radio Emergency Services Organization will be looking for donors to assist with the purchase of this Emergency Communications equipment for Northern Michigan.
The additional equipment order will be
processed as an
NMARES group order through ComDaC. The
